What we aim for
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA as the target for this website. This is a goal that guides how pages are designed and built; it is not a statement that the site fully conforms to those guidelines, and this website has not been independently audited.
Measures we have taken
Accessibility is considered as pages are written and built, and new pages are checked with keyboard-only use and automated testing tools. In particular:
- All menus, links, buttons and form fields can be reached and used with a keyboard.
- Interactive elements show a clearly visible focus indicator.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and automatic movement are reduced or switched off.
- Meaningful images have text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and interface colours are chosen with sufficient contrast in mind.
- Text can be resized or zoomed in the browser without content being cut off or needing sideways scrolling on most pages.
- Pages use headings, landmarks and labels so they can be navigated with screen readers.
- Where video with speech or meaningful sound is published, we aim to provide captions or a text alternative.
Known limitations
Some parts of the experience rely on services we do not control, and a few limitations remain:
- The embedded Google Map is provided by Google and may not be fully accessible with every assistive technology. The address is also given as text on the contact page.
- Conversations on WhatsApp take place in the WhatsApp app or website, whose accessibility depends on that service. You can contact us by email or phone instead.
- The film at the top of the home page is visual only and has no audio track, so it carries no captions. It pauses when scrolled out of view, can be paused with the “Pause film” button, and does not play at all if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Some older content or content shared from external sources may not yet meet our target, and we are reviewing it over time.
Report a barrier
If something on this website is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Let us know the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you are happy to, the device, browser or assistive technology you were using. We will try to fix the problem and, in the meantime, provide the information you need in another format.
